The Resignation...

There was a time... when i did not dare, or rather did not wish, to even imagine resigning from my job in Infosys... it was the time when i'd thought that Software Engineering was my destination... and coding was my career... but the turn of events so happened that writing my GMAT became inevitable... and since i wrote the exam... i thought i might as well apply to a few colleges... and hence began the journey... and finally... my last day in infy had dawned...

I had decided not to mention this in my blog... i did not want to get nostalgic when i have so many things to look forward to... but i am being haunted by dreams of all the things i had thought of doing on my last day on the job... this is my attempt to shut the doors to the lane of those haunting memories... both good and bad...

I remember how apprehensive i was when i was asked to give 'an official notice of termination of my employment with infosys'... i wondered what i'd do if i do not get my VISA... but i had little choice... my relieving day was set two days after my VISA interview date... it freaked me out... and i desperately tried to think positive and stay calm... I did not know what i had to write in my resignation letter... and asked a colleague who was quitting for the for the same reason to forward her resignation... i modified it little and sent it to my PM... i still did not dare to dream about where it was heading... eventually my e-separation formalities began... and i got busy with my VISA related documentation to worry about my resignation... the anxiety died down in due course... i truly miss not being able to live it... i never had the time to think about a lot of things i'd loved...

I had planned as much as possible for the D-day... but being as superstitious as i am... i had not really moved out a lot of my stuff from my office... my computer... n i was crammed with work and got hardly any time to meet my friends... or copy my most precious 6-7 gb of music... I did not even get my last minute of silence to reminisces some truly worthy experiences...

Infy taught me great lessons... in personal management... people management... work management... and of course a teeny weeny bit of JAVA :P... Quite obviously... my training days were the most enjoyable and memorable... great roomies made it more fun... i miss them... i was really lucky to have worked with the best people and teams in the company... my experience in both the projects was really good... i hate infosys' policies... but love infoscions...
